Anderson-Cherokee Community Enrichment ServiceS is the Department of State Health Services Designated mental health Authority established to plan, coordinate, develop policy, develop and allocate resources, supervise and ensure provision of community based mental health and mental retardation services for residents of Anderson and Cherokee Counties. The ACCESS mission is: People can count on ACCESS to work hand in hand with those around us to assure a choice of effective, efficient programs and caregivers and to offer excellent services that enhance the quality of life.
ANDERSON COUNTY CHAMPIONS FOR CHILDREN

The mission of Anderson County Champions for Children is to enhance the community’s environments and opportunities so that the full developmental growth of young children is maximized. The six goals are: (1.) To be an advocate for early childhood issues, a voice for those too young to speak for themselves; (2.) To promote accessible, affordable quality childcare; (3.) To provide training for childcare workers and parents in the best techniques to enable them to nurture and stimulate young minds; (4.) To  maintain a resource room of educational materials in support of best practices in parenting and early childhood development; (5.) To conduct family-oriented community events; and (6.) To work collaboratively with community agencies.
ANDERSON COUNTY LITERACY COUNCIL
The mission of the Anderson County Literacy Council is to break the cycle of illiteracy in the lives of Anderson County residents by working to increase public awareness of the costs of illiteracy; coordinate, strengthen, increase literacy efforts and recruit and refer volunteer tutors and students. Our objective is to offer quality, multilevel instructional classes and meet the needs and goals of participants who enroll.
ANDERSON COUNTY SHELTERED WORKSHOP
The Anderson County Sheltered Workshop was formed to promote the development of services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities (Mental Retardation). Specific vocational services consist of; (a) Training in the area of vocational skills and work habits, independent functioning, work orientation, social interaction, social development and basic cognitive skills; (b) Supported and assisted employment opportunities; and (c) Competitive job placement services.

Casa of Trinity Valley recruits and trains community volunteers in Henderson, Anderson and Cherokee Counties to advocate for children who are in foster care. Our volunteers are appointed by judges to investigate cases involving children and then make recommendations to the court in the best interest of the child and to secure permanent homes.
CHARITABLE CONSORTIUM/SANCTUARY HOUSE
The sole mission of Charitable Consortium is to promote, develop and implement programs of the homeless shelter project, Sanctuary House.  Charitable Consortium seeks to assist individuals in Anderson County who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to become self-sufficient by providing temporary housing, food, clothing, education, job training and work opportunities while offering counseling and referral to all needed community services.

The mission of the Crisis Center is to enhance and empower the lives of victims of child abuse, sexual assault, and family violence. The objective of the program is to reach the community with an educational message of prevention in the areas of family violence, sexual assault and child abuse. The Crisis Center uses the most professional advocacy program available to assist those who have been victimized to help them reach healing and independence.
EAST TEXAS AREA COUNCIL-BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

The mission of Boy Scouts of America and the East Texas Area Council is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Boy Scouts of America is the nation’s foremost program of character development and values-based leadership training. Scouting will continue to: (1) Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character; (2) Train young people in citizenship, service and leadership: (3) Serve America’s communities and families with its quality, value-based program; and (4) offer young people responsible fun and adventure.
EAST TEXAS COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE

ETCADA’s mission is to reduce substance abuse and dependency in East Texas Communities.  Specifically the purpose of the Access to Recovery (ATR) is to help individuals access state-funded drug/alcohol treatment.  Licensed substance abuse counselors conduct clinical screenings and assessments to determine; (a) severity of alcohol/drug problem and (b) most appropriate referral to treatment services.  Counselors provide intensive case management to engage and motivate clients while waiting for the treatment process to begin.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.  The Girl Scout program is driven increasingly by sophisticated understanding of the evolving developmental stages of girls between grades K-12 and listening to what girls tell us.  Age specific interests, needs and challenges of girls change rather dramatically as they move from one developmental stage to another.

The Red Cross provides relief services to families and individuals affected by disasters like residence fires, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes in the form of food, health services including mental health, clothing and shelter.  The Chapter’s goal is to respond to a disaster within two hours of notification to evaluate and determine the needed level of support.  Additionally, the Chapter provides 24/7 emergency services to members of the US Armed Forces and their families worldwide through the Services to Armed Forces Division.
HENRY-SMITH FAMILIES, INC. MULTI-CULTURAL EDUCATION CENTER
The Mission of the Multi-Cultural Education Center is to enable individuals to use the resources they have to cope with life’s situations; to give them the help they need to survive.  The goals of a new program, Able and Confident Owners Rebuilding Neighborhoods, are (1) encourage and inspire ownership or employment; (2) educate and train; and (3) mentoring for success.

The Mission of Meals on Wheels of Palestine is to help older adults build a brighter future for themselves and their community by enabling them to live independently with dignity.  The program provides both a nutritional meal daily and companionship for those who are homebound and those who eat on-site.
WOMEN’S HEALTH CONNECTION
The Women’s Health Connection mission is to improve the health and well-being of women and their families in our communities.  The vision is a community where everyone will be able to get timely health screening and care services in order to enjoy optimal health and well-being.  The goal is to decrease the occurrence of preventable disease in our communities through timely screening, early diagnosis and prompt treatment. Women’s Health Connection is committed to the long term health and strength of our communities in Anderson and Smith Counties.
